Robotics TXT Discovery Set

The Robotics TXT Discovery Set includes the new Robotics TXT controller and offers 14 models.

Not included in the set but required to power the robots, the Accu Set needs to be purchased separately. It includes a NiMH rechargeable battery —8,4 V at 1500 mAh with a built-in protection against short circuits—, and the dedicated charger.

Build...

Despite having some models similar to the previous Robo TX Explorer, the Robotics TXT Discovery Set includes a camera. The models explore each feature of the new controller and different fields of robotics.

The last two models are clearly designed for the Robo Cup. The kit even includes an orange ping-pong ball!

As always, the instruction manual is very clear and provides step-by-step instructions to build each model.

A CD-ROM includes ready-to-use programs for each model.

The TXTCamdroid for Android and TXTCamControl for iOS applications command the motors with the joystick on the left, and the camera height with the joystick on the right. Thanks to a live video feed through WiFi, experience first-person-view on the robot!

Conclusion

The Robotics TXT Discovery Set offers a great introduction to robotics  around the new Robotics TXT controller. 

I like the integration of the camera and the remote control from an Android-based table or iPad.
