Power Saving White LED
Complex models requires a lot of power to run multiple motors and sensors. Among them photo-transistors require direct lighting. The standard lamp and bulb lamp are power hungry and produce a lot of heat.
So the idea consists on providing the light to the photo-transistor using a fraction of the power with a white LED. |
The white LED needs a resistor. Consumption is 15 mA, one tenth of a bulb lamp.
The bulb lamp, recommended for use with the phototransistor, consumes 146 mA, as much as ten times the white LED.
Usage
The best usage is for photo-transistor.
The white LEDs are plugged on the 9V output and remain on, thanks to their low consumption.
Take care of the polarity for both the LED and the photo-transistor.
