Pneumatic Power Set

The Pneumatic Power Set (reference 533874) explores the field of pneumatics with a comprehensive range of elements for compressed air.

It offers 4 models and, along with the Solar Power (reference 533875), is priced very aggressively at 50€.

The set includes all the pneumatic elements needed:
  • a manual compressor (reference 36970),
  • an air tank (reference 156493),
  • two four-ways three-positions manual valves (reference 36934),
  • three pneumatic cylinders (reference 122641),
  • and of course, hose (reference 156107).

Getting Started with the First Model

The first model uses all the pneumatic elements and illustrates how pneumatics work.

As always, the instruction manual is very clear and provides step-by-step instructions to build each model.

An optional activity booklet is to be downloaded from the new fischertechnik eLearning website.

Exploring Pneumatics with Real Life Models

The other models explore the use of pneumatics in real life, with a workshop crane, a punch press, a track mounted recovery vehicle and an excavator.

The air tank provides an autonomy of up to 5 movements, and needs to be refilled after.

Conclusion

The Pneumatic Power Set brings a great introduction to pneumatics with a gradual approach. At 50€, it offers great value.

Surprisingly, the set only includes two of the iconic standard brick of 30 mm (reference 32879) but many small and very small elements. Those small and very small elements need to be handled with care.

The instructions manual contains a code to download the activity booklet from the fischertechnik eLearning website.

To explore pneumatics further on, fischertechnik offers two other sets based on pneumatics: the Pneumatic 3 (reference 516185)  and the ROBO TX Electro-Pneumatic (reference 516186).
