Large fischertechnik models include many motors and lamps and reach high power consumption. To give an idea, a simple bulb lamp requires up to ~100 mA and 1 W. 

So total consumption can quickly outreach the capacity supplied by the battery pack or the AC power adaptor.

This project provides a handy tool to get precise measures. As usual, the module is cased on a 9V red box for a nice integration.

Announcing smartControls, an advanced screen featuring touch and SD-card to provide user interaction right on your fischertechnik model.

The smartLED is a 4-digit 7-segment display encased in a 9V red battery box. 

It is connected to the RoboTX controller through I²C and displays decimal and hexa-decimal numbers or any combination of the segments.

The 9V red battery box makes it perfect to be included in a fischertechnik model.

As the first smart sensor, smartColours, is close to completion, I'm starting a new project called smartRFID.

RFID stands for Radio-Frequency IDentification. RFID is everywhere: price tags on the department stores, contact-less keys for cars, clocking cards at offices...

The RFID system consists on a reader and one or more tags. Each tag has a unique identifier.
